Beauty...

...in unexpected places...these gorgeous lilies are growing between the fence and the garage, which is pretty much where we toss yard waste...a pleasant surprise.

Of course not far away are some nasty, prickly weeds...a metaphor for life, no doubt.

Got some good news today...
...and it has nothing to do with the turkeys you see in the picture, above...though those are turkeys that apparently call our new home, home...kinda cool.

No, the good news we got today is our home we're selling appraised "at value", which basically means all systems go...we really are closing the deal and moving to our new place in Holland.

If the current closing date holds, we won't have to  pay two mortgage payments...all nine fingers crossed on that one...

...but we do need to get everything out of this one, pronto, and that is causing some minor panic attacks at the moment...

That's an actual photo of me thinking about all I have to do in the next couple of weeks...

Ok, I lied...that's not me...I'm nowhere near that good looking.

To fend off the panic attacks and actually get something done, we've rented a U-haul truck and are starting the process of getting stuff out of our place and into the new one.
That's a picture of Karen and her son Jon "u-haulin' a**" as she texted me on their way with the first load of boxes.  Last night I loaded up the truck for today's trip, and tonight I'll load it with the 3rd.

It's a race at this point...

Switching gears to less stressful subjects...my new hickory Stewart cleek iron arrived yesterday...
...from Louisville golf...it's a beauty.

I haven't completely given up on hitting my woods - ok, I pretty much have for the time being - but either way, this will give me a little more distance from the tee.  I can hit my mid-iron about 150 yards, and this cleek iron is a little heavier and longer...I'm hoping for 175 yards.

On a 350 yd par 4, that would mean I could be around the green in 2 or 3...which for me would be splendiferous...
Raining today else I would have tried it out this morning...

The pagans celebrated the summer solstice this week...
...so I guess it's officially summer...and we all know what that means...
...yeah, baby...a ride on a Ford Tri Motor...this time I'm thinking of heading up to Iron River in early September when the EAA will give FTM rides at the Ford Airport there.

There are closer ones...in Ohio, for example...but I've lived in Michigan for almost 35 years and I've never been to Iron River...thinking it may be time for that 8 hour drive...

But now...

later, mcm fans...
