The Adventures Of...

...Irons Man!  A careful check of my pencil bag above yields nary a sign of a wood...after Friday's abysmal outing when I apparently forgot anything I may have learned re: successfully hitting a golf ball with a wood, I decided this morning to play a round with only my irons.

The results were actually quite a bit better.

Odd, when you consider on Friday, at most I was hitting 6 or 7 tee shots with my spoon wood...but it seems my incompetence from the tee infected the rest of my game...a mental thing, no doubt, akin to when my kids played baseball back in the day...they could play errorless ball in the field, but if they didn't hit then the day was a loss.

And it's not like I was sacrificing any distance...since for whatever reason I can hit the irons better I actually hit longer from the tee today.

Anyway, it was an enjoyable round and the rains held off until I was stepping off the 9th green...then the heavens opened in a deluge and I was drenched.

Spent most of the weekend at the money pit...
One of my sons says it's looks like a medieval castle and needs a moat...
Probably not going to happen right away...a pool would be nice...

Anyway, on Saturday Chris was there cutting backer board...
...and I had the dumb end of the deal, hauling the 3'x5' sheets of backer board from his trailer to his cutting station...about 40 of them.

By the end of the day my back was screaming at me and that's when I realized, "hey...I should be sitting behind a desk someplace, writing..."

But there I was, doing the beast of burden thing...very thankful Chris is a talented tradesman...he made a lot of progress on several fronts...
...and if this project doesn't kill us, we might just end up with a nice home by the time we're done.

But now I hear my pillow calling to me, so...

later, mcm fans...
