Independence Day...

...2017...that's our new 20' flagpole in front of our new domicile.  Dug the hole and set the cement two days ago, raised Old Glory today...and remember...

"We hold these truths to be self-evident...that all men are created equal...that they are endowed by their Creator with certain inalienable rights...that among these are Life, Liberty and The Pursuit Of Happiness..."

Amidst the fireworks and cookouts...
...the baseball games and family get togethers...
...take a moment to reflect on the blood that was spilled by those who came before us and gave their all for Freedom's cause.

God Bless America, y'all...

Hit the links early this morning and realistically, I should probably never golf again...it is highly unlikely I will ever play as well as I did today.

Had 3 bogeys, 4 double bogeys, and 2 pars...no mulligans, no foot wedges, just a straight up, grip it and rip it, play it where it lies round of 9 holes.  Only had 3 or 4 bad shots...everything else was either ok or actually approaching decent.

All you bona fide accomplished golfers are snickering right now but what can I say?  It was a good round for me.

Here's a little friend I made by the 3rd green:
Mr. Beaver pretty much ignored me as I two putted on his green then trekked over to the 4th tee.

After dropping off yet another load of household items in Holland, we stopped by our new favorite coffee shop for a cuppa joe and a brownie...
absolutely love their sign...
...their mid century modern furnishings...
...and their uber cool objets d'art...
Getting down to the wire on this moving thing...have to be out of here by end of day Thursday...not panicking yet, but getting close.

As our twelve years of tenure here draw to a close, a farewell tour of some of Karen's handiwork in the backyard...






Definitely going to miss relaxing poolside surrounded by Nature's sublime beauty, but now our task is to create yet another oasis of tranquility at our new home.
