Here's another view:
We are slowly - and I do mean snail's pace slowly - establishing some semblance of order at the new domicile...and in so doing I am reminded of just how spoiled rotten we are. It's pathetic, really. We are so accustomed to having things exactly as we like them that any disruption lasting longer than a few days is viewed as near tragedy.
Oh well...as we plow through the chaos and gradually get things ship shape over the next few months, I truly hope I can keep this lesson close.
One of the tilers that just finished here is a full blooded Chippewa Indian. He has chosen to let go of pretty much everything material and lives out of his van. Let me emphasize this is a choice; no pity needed nor desired. He's a happy man, good at what he does and content with his simplified life.
He's taciturn so not given to conversation, but after the big storm Thursday night he spent a few moments talking about the beauty and magnificence of the lighting that illuminated the sky while the trees did a wild dance to the symphony of rain and thunder.
As the Lord God Almighty admonished His people, he that hath ears to hear, let him hear.
Missed my golf date this morning...alarm went off at 5:30 when I would normally have gotten up and headed to the links...just couldn't drag my sorry butt out of bed today.
Disappointed in myself bc now that we're in Holland, I was going to try the Pheasant golf club over by Borculo...and since it's only 9 miles from here I was going to drive Mr. T there.
Anyway, due to fatigue and lack of willpower I missed my chance for this week...try again next week I guess.
Tomorrow it's back to work...
I had originally scheduled last Monday off to make a 4 day weekend since July 4th was Tuesday...but as the time approached I added the Friday before the weekend...then the Wednesday after the 4th...and finally gave in to reality and scheduled the entire week off.
Not much of a vacation but needed all those days to accomplish this move.
Feels like a lot of the summer has already flown by and we've missed it...need to make the most of what's left.
And that means getting after it today, so...
later, mcm fans...
