Here's the "before Karen changed out the spotlights for red and green bulbs" view:
This is the most outdoor decor we've ever had so we're trying not to fall into the Griswold trap and over do things...a simple manger scene...
love the angel trumpeting the good new of Christ's birth... |
...and yeah, I'm a sucker for the "Santa" traditions as well... |
Here's our fresh cut tree that graces our TV room:
...in our living room and I think / hope we're done erecting / decorating Christmas trees for 2017.
Of course Karen has been busy decorating more than just trees...
...and to think we get to take it all down in four weeks...I guess we'll jump off that bridge when we get to it.
We survived the Black Friday / Cyber week excitement mostly unscathed...so I may need to revise my "once more into the fray" post from a couple of weeks ago...maybe the Grinch won't steal Christmas this year after all.
(re)Published another book on Amazon this week...
...a rewrite of a previous effort...happier with this version than the original.
On the renovation front, kitchen is almost complete...if all goes well, that rarest of all occurrences here on Planet Misstep, it will be finis! by middle of this coming week...
Much to do on this first weekend in December, including I hope a round of golf later today...and maybe one tomorrow...supposedly headed for sunny and 52 degrees...
so...
Post Script...
Did get out and walk 9 today...but probably wasn't supposed to...the golf course driveway had a rope across it with a "posted...private property..." sign on it...but to the right was a two track where someone had driven around it...so I did the same...put $5 in the box and played a pretty good round...
...including an enjoyable sequence of par-par-par-bogey on 4, 5, 6 and 7...but I did email the course owners later and confess my trespass...also asked them if they're "closed" closed as in "no more golf until spring", because earlier this year I chatted with one of the owners who told me they play the course right through December if the weather is decent.
And tonight it's a very pleasant evening with a full moon and mild temps...
...gotta love a December night in Michigan in the 40's...
later, mcm fans...
