Ah, The Joys...

...of an early summer morning...and another trip around the links.

Not quite as good as the last time...

...hit a few more errant shots...but still a very enjoyable foray into the black arts of hickory golf.

Happily, I knew what I did wrong and was able to correct which was rewarding.
That's my "1 putt for bogey" and would you believe...?  Not if  you're smart you wouldn't...

Managed a couple of bogeys and one par, but mostly my hickories, gutta perchas and I hung around double bogey territory, which for me was just fine.

Afterwards I rewarded myself with a good cigar and a delightful view from the command center...

...would be hard to improve on this morning...

Labor on the 2020 version of the courtyard continues...

...with Karen working her usual magic...

...another week or so and it should be ready for the grand unveiling...you know, the big day when we, uh...well, that is, um...y'know...look at it and stuff...

In other...

...news...when we first moved in there were two outside lights that no longer worked...one was near the backyard by our bonus room, the other had been perched on the end of wall by the driveway.

That one had been knocked off the wall completely by the 16 year old driver who lived here before we purchased the place...we know that because he told us proudly...

...as if his inability to navigate the driveway without causing major damage to mommy's car and nearby stationary structures was worthy of applause in his world.

Well, this past week we resurrected both of them...
the one near the bonus room...

...and the one on the wall by the drveway...

...you can see the damage to the top of the wall by the base of the light...still to be repaired this summer...

The electrical has been an "exciting" (read: expensive)...

...part of restoring this home to its former glory and there's more to be done...but Karen suggested we connect each of these into our outside lighting that's on a "dusk til dawn" timer, rather than having them tied to a switch to turn them off and on.

That jump started the process and now both are lighting up the night again as they used to do.

A small but satisfying victory for the homeowners...

This week's "Crying Man" update is being replaced by a new feature...

...the Angry Man update...bc this diet thing is really starting to grind my gears.

Only lost a half pound this week...down to 199.4 now with another 4 or 5 lbs to go...will this torment never end??

In the Enlightened Leadership department...

...our Beloved Fascist recently made a bold proclamation.

Unfettered by Reason, unencumbered by the heavy manacles of Evidence, seduced by the dulcet tones of her own voice and bravely ignoring the neoteric announcement by The Apostle of National Lockdowns - the eminent Dr. Fauci -

- who gave his contempo opinion that "long term lockdowns may cause irreparable damage" - our always confident though seldom right Dictator For Life proclaimed her lockdown of the proles would be extended until sometime in June.

She may not know much, but one thing she's definitely learned during this pandemic: it's just fun telling folks what to do.

Who needs the constitution when you've got whim and fancy as your guide?  Administered of course with a healthy dose of arrogance and condescension.

Remember fellow plebs, we get the government we deserve, so vote your conscience at the next election.

Finally, this is Memorial Day weekend...

...when we pause to remember those who have served this country throughout its history.

The old saying is All Gave Some; Some Gave All.

Take a moment during this holiday weekend to reflect on the freedoms granted to us by God in heaven and safeguarded for us by the brave men and women in the military.
