Another Glorious...

...summer morning on the links...and it helped that I played pretty well.

this niblick shot...

Got skunked in the par department, but bagged a few bogeys along the way...

...landed here, and two putt for bogey...

As long as I'm striking the ball well...

managed to avoid the water today...

...and keeping it in the fairways, I'm happy.

Had a couple of chances to 1 putt for par...

...but either rimmed the cup or left it short.

Overall it was a little solitude, a little exercise and a delightful stroll through the country.

When Karen and I were in Saugatuck the other day, we saw something we didn't think was possible:

...a sign in support of our BFD ("beloved fascist dictator"...what did you think it meant?)

Whoever those poor misguided souls are, they obviously don't understand when you trade your rights for safety, you lose both.

Takes all kinds, I guess.

In the "continuous home improvements" department, we had our driveway sealed this week...went from this:

...to this:

And from this:

...to this:

It definitely looks better now...

...but should also extend the life of the asphalt, something our driveway truly needed.

Like the rest of the place, it hadn't been maintained properly for many years.

This home restoration has been a much bigger project than we anticipated...

...but we're slowly bringing it back to its former mid century modern glory...another year...or three...

We soldier on.

I have to admit, the tough slog through restoration purgatory hasn't been all boring (and expensive) stuff like replacing the roof, putting down new flooring or upgrading the electrical.

Occasionally we do something whimsical and fun...
Karen lets me think I'm driving...

...as you'll see next week.

Here's a hint...it's the "Mid Century Modern Power Couple" that never was.

Stay tuned.

Just about time for some parting shots...

saw this poor guy early one morning...only half a rack...

And...

...for this edition of the Atomic Monster Cafe.

Thanks for dropping by and we hope your time here wasn't as bad as you feared it might be, all things considered.

Make sure you stop at the security checkpoint on the way out so we can rifle through your pockets for any loose change.
