...I sank this putt...for par on the 2nd hole of the Ryan P. Hare Memorial Hickory / Wiffle Golf Course.

Left my niblick just short of the green and chipped on for that leave you see there...then swapped the wiffle golf ball for a gutta percha and stroked it in for a par 4.

So that's 2 holes now, with 2 more to go this summer.

And this one feels better than my first effort.  Used a little more sand, but it's also better turf.

Hoping to get the 3rd one in this week, but then I'll be on golf course building hiatus until sometime in July when they get the pool in.

If I put the 4th one in before then they'll end up driving over it when excavating for the pool.

But that's ok, once the 3rd green is in I can play 9 unique holes from 4 different tees.

I may never visit another golf course again.

We planted this tree in Ryan's memory this weekend...

...that's an ornamental apple tree...beautiful blossoms every spring.

Here's another view...

...standing guard by the first green.

We're having his memorial service this coming weekend, and that's going to be tough.

I don't cry every day anymore, but pretty much guaranteed I will that day.

Finished Born Out Of Due Time...

...and I think this is some of my better stuff, but that's always hard for me to judge because I get too close to what I'm writing.

Time will tell, but at the moment I'm pleased with the results.

Available *here!* so don't miss it while you can.

Some parting shots, mostly of the wildlife decorating our homestead lately...

that's a bat, believe it or not...I turned him over and he came to life, flew away, then flew right back...I ducked, and  he climbed back into his hidey our patio ceiling over hang

Mr. Robin Red Breast serenaded me one pleasant afternoon

the early summer view from the command center

worm hunting

caught en flagrante delicto

a tanager recently graced our feeder

Mr. Woodpecher hammering away

And that's going to have to do it for this late Sunday night edition of the Atomic Monster Cafe.

We hope, as always, you enjoyed your visit, but if not, just remember it was tough going west.

later, mcm fans...
