...sums up today's round.

Started off pretty well...had a chance to be on the 1st green in 3 which would have given me a chance to 1 putt for par...

...but missed the green with my mashie shot, so chipped on in 4, and 2 putt for double bogey...

...and so went the entire round.

Wasn't terrible, just missed opportunities on every hole right through 9 where what could have been a par turned into yet another double bogey.

When I walked off the last green my mood matched the solid grey overcast perfectly.

The pool saga is winding inspection happened this past week and we spent more time talking about our home than we did the pool.

Not a huge surprise the inspector was interested in architecture given his vocation, so I gave him a brief history of our "Baysweep" home, the nickel tour and he was on his way.

We've decided to wait on the four lamp posts, opting instead for string lights on the fence, so now we just need to finish up some landscaping.

raining now but you can see some of the stones on the left we're placing around the perimeter

all lit up at night

looks like a par-tay

Hopefully we'll get almost 2 month's use out of it this year before the cold winds start to blow again.

Ordered a memorial stone and stand to place by Ryan's tree.

Don't have a proof for approval yet, but it should include a laser engraved picture on the left with wording on the right...

...much nicer than the above, of course, but similar to that layout.

Some days are better than others.

Still cogitating on A Threefold Cord...

...but it's been pushed aside for awhile...been dealing with all the outside stuff that needs attention.

Plus, since it's another "story within a story" I'm still working out how I'm going to blend them together and how much historical stuff I want to include.

I sometimes envy those folks who have to write or else they'll explode, but it's never been that way for me.

I'm more of a "when the mood strikes" writer, so it's a good thing I'm full time employed at a real job or else I'd be panhandling on a street corner someplace...

Now don't panic...

...but it's time for a brisk trot through the parting shots department...

Larry said his blue heron is back...

...I told him my turkeys never left

when I asked him what he thought he was doing on my bird feeder...

...he said, "Who, me?"

my home office with all the essentials

I can relate

another dream dashed

And thus endeth another rousin' edition of the Atomic Monster Cafe.

As always we appreciate you wiping your feet on the way in, and emptying your pockets on the way out.
