| that's make-believe journo JK on the right hanging out with a few of his imaginary friends. as his <doe eyed interview> clearly shows, JK's heart is all aflutter over AOC |
Oops, wrong pic of Miss Occasionally Coherent...here we go:
Considering he's supposed to be speaking truth to power as a hard hitting journalist, Karl's kissy face fluff piece soiree was embarrassing.
The only thing missing was a shared malted shake with two straws as they tittered their way through his slow pitch softball questions.
But as <one pundit rightly observed>, the D's don't get to lightly dismiss the insanity they espoused as they canceled, censored, excoriated and humiliated normal people for daring to have common sense beliefs like...
* men can not magically become women just because they say so, nor should they compete against women in sports, use their bathrooms or share their locker rooms.
* in spite of what soi boi James Talarico says...
* defunding the police is a great way to become a victim of crime; -and-
* abolishing prisons is a fine idea if you enjoy the company of murderers, rapists, thieves and pedophiles in your neighborhood.
The bad news is "woke 1" implies "woke 2"...
Poster boy for this political sewage spill is Michigan's D candidate for the U.S. Senate...
...<Abul Al-Sayed>.
As the above essay makes clear, Abdul is committed to Sharia law and holds beliefs which stand in direct opposition to Article VI, clause 3 of our Constitution:
The Senators and Representatives before mentioned, and the Members of the several State Legislatures, and all executive and judicial Officers, both of the United States and of the several States, shall be bound by Oath or Affirmation, to support this Constitution; but no religious Test shall ever be required as a Qualification to any Office or public Trust under the United States.
Get that?
All these lunatic DSA candidates who want to tear down our Constitution, if elected, will be required by law to swear to uphold our Constitution!
In short, they cannot legally hold office.
Welcome to woke 2, the land through the looking glass.
May God have mercy on our souls.
We've got another half-HGU this edition, since I once again split the week; this time with a 5-4 win on Monday and a 5-4 loss on Thursday.
The maddening part of Thursday's loss is I just needed to win one of the last 2 holes to win the match and had ample opportunity to do so on both holes.
But, reaching deep into my personal arsenal of self-sabotage, I managed to adroitly snatch defeat from the jaws of victory.
The final nail in the coffin was a missed 5 ft putt on 9, after first chipping over the green to ensure my chances at victory were minimal at best.
Stay tuned in the coming weeks...
Before we leave this frustrating topic, here's some cryptic advice an older golfer conveyed to me:
"Nothing is everything, but everything is something."
Say what??
In English:
In spite of what you may see in the thousands of online "fix your game" videos, there is no "one thing" that will solve your golf woes...no training aid, no tweak to your grip, stance, equipment or mindset.
That's not to say you don't need to fix some or all of those things, but you can forget about the magic pill.
On the other hand, everything in your game matters: your grip, your stance, your swing, your attitude - all of it makes a difference.
Take-away:
Stop looking for gimmicks and shortcuts; buckle down, mind the details and practice.
And while you're at it, enjoy it!
Golf is a game...
Now, for the highlight of your week (please, say it ain't so), let's 23 Skidoo -

Woke up in a cold sweat today...had this terrible
nightmare that it was already August 15th - halfway through the last month of summer!
Thankfully I realized that can't possibly be true; seems like yesterday when we observed Memorial Day...
...can we?
You know the answer to that; it's what Elvis sang about...
So - if I may once again ring that bell - use whatever time God has given you wisely:
² Continue in prayer, and watch in the same with thanksgiving;
³ Withal praying also for us, that God would open unto us a door of utterance, to speak the mystery of Christ, for which I am also in bonds;
⁴ That I may make it manifest as I ought to speak.
⁵ Walk in wisdom toward them that are without, redeeming the time.
- Colossians 4:2-5
