The Big Event...

...has come and gone...and it started with us raising the Jolly Roger to let folks know we were open for business.

Numbers were down a bit this year, in spite of the decent weather and moderate temps...78 intrepid candy seekers traversed the "walk of fear", compared to an even 100 last year.

Chatted with the neighbors after and they suggested the "trunk or treat" events cut down on the old school neighborhood trick-or-treating.

Whatever the reason, for those hardy souls who did venture out, Marilyn and Big Frank were their usual friendly selves...

careful, she bites...

...but he doesn't

smiling jack-o-lanterns light your way

the skeleton crew working hard to get a head

the groundbreaker welcomes you...

...to the walk of fear!

1st stop, willie the werewolf and the haunted urn

the hanging reaper with some words of wisdom...

...while the morphing pumpkin laughs with you (not at you)

the singing pumpkin serenades you while the blinking skull keeps watch

sir kitschalot stands guard

the creature from the black lagoon emerges from his watery home

the spooky owl wonders hoooo...hoo hoo hoo?

while a gaggle of ghosts do some precision flight maneuvers

jack skellington is your door man

and the beautiful mrs. bones handles the treat distribution duties

We handed out franky / drac / pumpkin bags...

...each one filled with "soul food", party favors and sweet treats neat to eat.

Happily, folks seemed to enjoy themselves...

...and Lord willing, we'll do it all again next year.

Happy Hallows, y'all!

later, mcm fans...
